Bubbles + New Bed!
After a day of beach/pool/outdoor time, we came home and...played outside. It was awesome.
After a couple of weeks of REALLY bad sleep habits, we finally had a new theory...Danny doesn't like being in his crib. This kid was sleeping so well for months, going to bed no problem, sleeping through the night most nights, etc, then all of the sudden we had two weeks of either fights to go to bed or up for 2 hours in the middle of the night. It was bad. So, after some thinking I realized that I think he doesn't like being trapped in his crib. So, yesterday we did some rearranging and converted a crib into a toddler bed.
He was very excited about the change! So excited that he didn't nap! It was too exciting to be able to get in and out. He did stay in his room quietly for about an hour, so whatever.
We're only one night in, but last night bedtime was a breeze! I couldn't believe it. Went through our normal routine, laid him in bed, and then left. And that was that! Throughout the night I had to go help him get back in bed once after he fell out (onto really thick pillows that were on the floor, don't worry). Then at some point he came into bed with us. BUT we had zero screaming/yelling/scared wake-ups. That is HUGE. I'm knocking on wood, but I hope it works again tonight.
We watched the Super Bowl and ate cupcakes yesterday.
After the Super Bowl we went to the park.
Daniel finally mastered going down the slide "backwards," which means he can now climb up the slide. Oh boy.
A fun weekend!

Soggy Bottom
Sometimes it's a gorgeous day upcountry so you decide to head down the mountain to go to a great playground after school. Turns out it had been raining at said playground.
Oh well!
Oh well!
You can see the original, dry color of his shorts on the right. The rest was completely soaked. Turns out once you get wet, it's not a big deal to keep playing and get more wet. We ended up having a blast.
P.S. It was warm enough out that he wasn't cold.

Sleeping In
We were up from midnight until 1:30 last night looking for Dad (who was on a plane) and trying to get comfy. That lead to sleeping in until 6:50 this morning.
At least it made getting ready for school easy for me!

Big Hill
Ooph, we've been slacking lately. Truthfully we just don't take as many photos. Plus most times when we do, Daniel is moving so fast that pictures don't turn out too well.
We had a week of struggling to fall asleep, but the problem seems to be solve...for now. Ooph.
We started the weekend with a dress rehearsal, a walk up a "big hill," and burgers and fries out.

Saturday was full of errands, chores, and clouds. Womp.
Today we went to Iao Valley for a walk, saw the ducks, took a nap, and went to the pool. It was a day full of outdoor activities. Kiddo is going to be a good hiking buddy someday.
Hopefully I'll start posting more often again, but Tom is traveling all week so I have a hard time believing this will be the week I'm better about it..

Sunday Evening Walk
I suppose I made my last post too early, because our weekend wasn't finished yet. After Danny's super awesome nap (no sarcasm) we decided to go for a walk/trike ride on Thompson Road.
Our pace started nicely, but then slowed when Danny decided he wanted to walk. Good thing he left his ridiculous helmet on...
Then of course he wanted to push.
The good news is that he got a LOT of walking in. It was good exercise for him.
And we got to see cows and horses.
A great way to fit what felt like a whole weekend into about a day and a half!
Weekend
Phew, we're all over the stomach bug that Danny got from somewhere and passed on to all of us. No fun, but we're all happy to be feeling better.
Yesterday afternoon we were able to get out to test out a new playground and get some Guri Guri (sort of a hybrid between ice cream and water ice).
The best part was after we finished eating our Guri Guri, Daniel took the empty cup and walked back to the shop door saying "more." He was a regular Oliver.

Today we finally we were feeling well enough to head out to the beach. We were there for two awesome hours.
