Blue Bell

Today I taught Daniel all about the joys of Blue Bell ice cream...

Then he either tried to show me just how much he could fit in his mouth or he began yelling for Blue Bell...

But then I had to break the news that they don't sell Blue Bell in Hawaii.

He'll just have to wait until the next time we go to Texas.  :-)

It was like a light switch turned on and suddenly he's supporting himself.  So fun to watch him grow.

He's also trying to figure out how to roll over on to his back, which seems to be a bit frustrating apparently.

DKIST Cuteness

We were given this awesome DKIST onesie by someone at NSO (Tom's work).  DKIST is the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope being built on Haleakala (the whole reason we're on Maui).

You can't really tell from the pictures (because our Daniel is on the chunky side - ha), but it says "the next generation" under the logo.  Pretty darned cute if you ask me.

P.S.  Look out!  Mama just found some websites where you can make collages and do all kinds of neat things with pictures!

Idaho Vacation

We just got back from a week in Idaho with the Keck family.  It was Daniel's first flight/traveling experience and he was a champion!  He slept during all the flights and didn't really fuss at all.

We had so much fun with family.  We have about 500 pictures, these were just a couple Daniel centered photos.  Every day we went on an adventure, either a hike, swimming in hot springs, fishing, etc.  Danny was such a trooper and had a great time.

Now we're back home and trying to get back on a normal schedule and get used to a quiet house.

Like Father, Like Son

I have SO many photos to upload from our trip to Idaho.  We just got back late, late last night and I've been working through photos for Facebook but haven't gotten to the blog yet.  That's on the to do list for tomorrow.

2 month appointment

We survived the 2 month vaccines this morning.  I think I'm more traumatized than he is.  He calmed down as soon as I could hold him again and now he's sleeping on my chest.  We'll have lots of cuddles today.

In other news, Danny weighs 15.5 pounds, which puts him in the 99.7th percentile.  Holy smokes!  That's one big boy!!  He is 23.5 inches long and his head circumference is 16.25 inches.

Okay, back to the cuddles for me!

Dad's Home + Beach Morning!

Tom got home from Boulder yesterday after 9 days away.  We were so happy to see him!

This morning Danny woke us up at 5:30, so we decided not to fight it.  We packed up, went out for breakfast, and then went to the beach before it got hot and sunny.  We set up our tent and parked it in the cool shade for a little over an hour.

We were home by 10:30.  Talk about early birds!

I bought these PJs from Savers and only just now realized there's a hole in the foot.  It's so cute with his "big" toe sticking out, I'm not sure I want to fix it.

Looks like I'm not getting up to get breakfast any time soon.  At least I got my cup of coffee before he passed out :-).

Dad's baby picture

When I got Daniel out of the carrier when meeting up with a friend earlier this week, she looked at me and said, "Don't worry, he'll start to look a little bit like you someday."

It's pretty clear to everyone who sees Daniel that he looks just like his Dad.  I was curious was Tom looked like as a baby, so I went digging for a picture.

Yup, I'd say there are some similarities :-).
