Backseat Conversations

In some ways, toddlers are the best.  Here is a sample of what I heard from the backseat on our drive to work/daycare this morning.

"Mama!  Purple trees!" (the jacarandas are starting to bloom and he gets very excited to see them)
"Mama!  COLORS!!!  Red, yellow, green!" (excitement about a traffic light)
"Mama!  Rainbow!  It's pretty rainbow!"
"Horses, Mama, horses!"
"Mama!  There's cows there!"

In a 10 minute commute, he found so many things to be legitimately excited about.  What a way to live your life!

Sauerkraut

Tonight's dinner was pork, taters, and sauerkraut...mmm so good.

Here's Daniel's take on sauerkraut (ignore the fact that he says no before he answers the question, kind of a weird/annoying habit he sometimes gets in to).

Kiddo had seconds on sauerkraut, which maybe isn't surprising given how much he loves pickles.  Made us proud!

Starbucks Date

Found another Starbucks gift card this week so Daniel and I decided to use it this morning.  We had a ridiculously good time. 

He was being so sweet and polite, offering me bites of his bagel, saying "thank you Mama," reminding me to drink ("drink Mama!"), and in general just being awesome.  At one point he said "good job Mama" after I took a bite.  Nothing like being recognized for something you do well...in my case...eating.

We even had our own dance party.  (Probably the best part of our trip)

Yes, we dance by moving our arms back and forth.  Kiddo's got moves!

After that fun excursion, we of course had to hit the playground!  Didn't get many pictures, but I did get this super cute video.

Portland Style

Since we were in Portland a year ago, we decided to go for a Portland style walk this evening.

We didn't let a little misty drizzle slow us down!

Weeknight Beach Time

Took a weeknight trip to the beach this evening.  We basically never do this, but probably should more often!

This beach had some rocks, so Daniel spent pretty much the entire time throwing rocks in the water.

Dentist

Daniel had his first trip to the dentist today.  It lasted all of 5 minutes, but he had fun and his teeth apparently look good.

Third Trimester

Soon this blog will about about two little Maui kiddos and not just about Daniel.  As much as we love and are excited for our second little one, it occurred to us that we haven't taken a single "bump" picture yet...probably something about chasing a toddler around, working, traveling, etc.  I figured the first day of the third trimester was as good of a day as any to start taking pictures.
