Kale vs. Bacon

First of all, the other day Danny learned how to say an enthusiastic "yes!" while nodding his head.  It was the cutest and I was super happy that he hadn't learned to say "no" to everything yet.  Until today.  It was "no" to everything.  The good news is that he doesn't want a million dollars, he doesn't like ice cream, and he doesn't want to go to the park.

Anyway, back to the point of this post.  Tonight Danny had cheese, bacon, sweet potatoes, zucchini, and kale on his plate.  He sat there and ate zucchini and kale and asked for more.  To silence any naysayers, I took a video for proof!  In this video you'll notice he does pick up a piece of cheese but ends up putting it down hah.  Who is this kid!?

And yes, Tom did get in trouble for trying to discourage veggie eating!

A Real Page Turner

The same thing happens to me when I'm reading a good book...

Danny had to go to a rehearsal with me today but got to model the derby hats they were using for the jazz dance!

Puzzles

Literally just a video of Daniel doing a puzzle.  If that sounds boring to you (and I don't blame you), go ahead and skip right over this post.

We've been working on having Danny stand still/quietly when the chicks approach him.  They'll come up really close to him when he's gentle/quiet.  They're just as interested in him as he is in them.

Curls!

Ignoring the piece of dirt in his hair, how stinkin' cute are these curls?  They come out more at the end of the day when it's humid/he's sweaty, but I don't care.

And like his mother, the front/top of his hair appears to be stick straight while the back is full of curls.

Arrrrgh!

Did ye know it's Talk Like a Pirrrrrate Day?

No daycare again today, but Danny and I went to school this morning to look at some of the pirate costumes.  Someone gave us this awesome bandana to wear.

Escalators!

Yesterday we rode escalators!  Apparently if you're one and a half, that's really stinkin' exciting!

Also, we saw water fountains!

We also went for a walk in Wailea.  Danny walked A LOT and by the end he was struggling to keep up.  Then all the sudden he was just shuffling his feet.  Then he stopped and asked to be picked up.  He walked a lot yesterday though, I was surprised he lasted as long as he did.

This morning our daycare provider is sick, so Danny and I are home this morning.  Naturally he decided it made sense to sit in the driveway and read a book..

It's a rainy, chilly one this morning.  So we cuddled up on the couch to read some books.  That's what I call a Monday morning.

Now time for more coffee..

More Ducks

Is it even the weekend if you don't go visit the ducks?

Daycare naps

Sometimes our timing is off and Danny is still sleeping when we go to pick him up from daycare.

It's super cute, but it usually ends with a somewhat cranky kid, though not always.

Balloon

Oh the amount of fun you can have on a Wednesday evening with a simple balloon...

That is...until it pops in the hands of a toddler.  Actually I was expecting him to be scared/cry but he just kept saying "uh oh."

Baby Chick

We've got a new batch of baby chicks here on Old Haleakala Highway.  One little guy got lost from his family so I caught him and Danny got to see him up close.

Don't worry, with the help of the neighbors, we eventually found the mama hen and the rest of the chicks and put him safely back.

ND Shirts

Danny's Costco travel buddy.  (Thank goodness we can still get away with saying "buh bye" to any toy he likes.)

Tough loss for Notre Dame today, but it didn't dampen our spirits.

Sitting at the table

Daniel is big enough to sit at the table and not use his tray.  Yeehaw!

Lollipop

Lollipop, lollipop, oh lolli lolli lolli

You're welcome for getting that song in your head.

Tom was trying to score some points with Danny or something and gave him a lollipop.  Meanwhile I'm trying to interest him in black beans and steamed veggies...

I guess I've got to admit it's pretty cute.

Sunday Expotition

Danny's getting real good at stacking his blocks.

We went for a nice walk in the woods yesterday.  This place is great because it's always cool and shady so we can go any time of day.  We spent an hour and a half walking around the trail yesterday.  We found so many sticks, dogs, and leaves!

Despite the multiple shoulder ride pics, Danny actually did walk quite a bit, including uphill.  We thought for sure he'd be pooped and ready for a nap afterwards, but nope.  No afternoon nap.
