More Randomness

We've been loving playing Spot It together lately.  I was surprised that Daniel picked it up as easily as he did.  You have to find the matching picture that is on both cards.  Given that he has trouble finding his water cup when it's right in front of him, I thought he'd be awful at it.  But truthfully, he's better at this game than I am.

Daniel decided to wake up for the day at 2am..so this was the scene at 8am.  Gonna be a weird schedule today..

Mom Life

I'm doing it!  I've got both kiddos home with me today and so far I'm surviving.  Miraculously they both went down for a nap at the same time.  Ahh sweet, sweet freedom...or at least sweet, sweet time to clean up from lunch, move the laundry, and make a cup of coffee.  Do I sound like a mom yet?

Anyway, here are some pictures.

Yesterday I ventured out for my first outing with both kids by myself.  We had a successful playground trip!

Today we went to story time at the library with Heidi in the Ergo but we had to leave early because Daniel broke the rule about running off..womp womp.

But we came home and I set up our camping tent outside, much to Daniel's amazement!

Then my trusty assistant and I made some "skinny" brownies.  I was busy wiping the counter when I hear "mmm...chocolate!"  Looked over to see he'd found the scraper and had started licking.  Atta boy!

But now, it's nap/coffee time!

Our friends had us over last night and Daniel got to play in their new pool!  It was the fanciest inflatable pool I ever did see! 

On an unrelated note - Heidi had her 2 week check up today.  She's as healthy as a horse.  Here are her stats.

Weight: 9lbs 3oz - 73% (Up almost 2 lbs from her birth weight!)
Height: 20 inches - 42%
Head: 14.75 inches - 88%

Seems like she's on track to be a complete chunk of a baby just like her brother.

Weekend Adventures

Daniel managed to climb into the driver's seat while Tom was strapping Heidi in as we were getting ready to head to the pool yesterday.  My fear is that this will be the same look on his face when he's 16 and actually behind the wheel for the first time..

Went out for happy hour (I had a killer water on the rocks).  Blurry photo shows excitement over FREE butter noodles!

Then a trip to ride the escalators ended up with Daniel coloring a tiki mask and getting a FREE ice cream cone - his first ever!

He chose chocolate...my kiddo!

Heidi's First Trip to the Ducks!

Heidi got to take her first trip to see the ducks today.  We found a nice shady spot and spent about an hour and a half hanging around watching zip liners and ducks.  It was nice to enjoy the beautiful, breezy weather.

Daniel enjoyed the time outside, as always.

Danny is very affectionate but doesn't necessarily know how big/strong he is.  I was lucky to get a hug and not a tackle..

It's nearly impossible for me to say no when Daniel asks to hold Heidi...even if she's sleeping.  Luckily newborns sleep pretty heavily so I can move her to his lap without much issue.  Usually.
