Our Week

Two kiddos first thing in the morning.

Daniel has found a new perch. 

I had to take a personal day on Tuesday because daycare was closed and Tom was out of town.  The weather was horrible..really bad.  Finally around 9:30 we decided to brave the weather and go to the library.  In an effort to avoid a long line of potholes, I drove right into a real nasty pothole.  Complete blowout.  With two kids.  In the rain.  Thankfully some folks from school came to help me change it.

Homemade chocolate chip cookies always make me feel better, even after blowing out a tire.

We had to get the tire changed, but very few places (one) had ours in stock.  Went to this little gas station with no waiting area.  It took 1.5 hours!  We were under and overhang by the bathrooms waiting for our tire to be changed.  Daniel took the opportunity to play in the rain and get soaked.  I didn't have it in me to fight it.

We went out to eat on Friday evening and the restaurant gave kids etch a sketches to play with (genius).  Turns out Tom is quite the artist!

Tom didn't come home from Boulder empty handed. 

Finally made it to the library on Saturday morning.

Then a trip to Thompson Road in the evening.

This morning we went to the beach.  I think we got everything in our beach bag.

This little one is pulling to stand on just about everything except the couch.  But when I prop her up there, she is thrilled!

Update

The only Valentine I managed to get a picture of on Valentine's Day..

It has been non-stop rainy here.  Luckily the library has books to read and toys to play with (and space to move).

I put Heidi's hair in pigtails..ridiculous for sure, but what are ya gonna do.

Not bad form for a baby..

I finally got a picture of Heidi in her down dog pose.  She's been doing this for awhile now.  Definitely trying to pull to stand on furniture and getting up on her feet like this.

Friday night fun!

We went to the west side of the island and found some sun on Saturday! 

And we found an awesome play structure.  Daniel wanted to play/climb all day.

This is an improvement from Daniel trying to sit on Heidi when she's crawling and saying "giddyup Heidi!"  Also, we need a bigger living room.

Photo Dump

We're overdue for a photo dump.  We somehow survived last week with unexpected no day care every day!  We didn't find out until 8pm each night that there was no daycare the next day.  It. was. rough.

On a rainy weekend day, we drove to Wailea to play on the turf.  Luckily it wasn't rainy there.

Tom made a six plaited challah bread.  Delicious!

Finally found some sun and went for a bike ride on Thompson Road.

Daniel has become a pretty great smiley face drawer!

Heidi got to come to work with me more than once last week.

She even slept through a faculty meeting.

She's crawling everywhere and desperately wants to pull up to stand.

We used to be able to contain her on a blanket when we play outside.  Not anymore.  Had to wash those pants right away cause they got so dirty!

Heidi really liked our Indian spiced veggies.  Too bad turmeric is basically yellow dye!

We played at the gym at my school.

And ate lunch with the "big kids"

It's been so cold!  Heidi was sleeping in fleece pjs, a fleece wearable blanket, and wore socks on her hands.

Her first try of sauerkraut!  She appeared to like it.
