East Coast Trip - Part 2

Admittedly we didn't really take any good photos from our trip.  But at least if I post them I'll have something to look back on, even if they aren't great pictures.  It doesn't help that I feel like I'm always taking pictures from behind Daniel since he's always running ahead excitedly.

We had a rainy morning walk around Angela's place one morning.

We decided to try out an indoor playground for Daniel.  We don't have anything like this on Maui and it was a good alternative for a rainy day.  He loved it!

We got to walk around the UD campus one morning.  Here's Daniel walking up to the music building.

We went to the Brandywine Zoo, which was tiny.  Daniel still had a good time.

We ordered Daniel a kids meal at lunch one day.  It was HUGE!  It was a good lookin' chicken pot pie.

Went to the Polish Festival in Wilmington.  Daniel got to ride a carousel and some motorcycle ride.

He loved it!  Unfortunately, he was exhausted after a long day of walking around campus, going out to lunch, going to the zoo, and finally to the festival.  His behavior made it so we had to leave before we got to hear some good Polish music.  Oh well!  Reckon we pushed these kiddos pretty hard on the trip.

Lately

Obviously I still have more trip photos to post, but I also want to keep up to date with pictures lately.

First, we came home on Saturday.  On Sunday morning, Heidi rolled over from front to back!  She had rolled back to front once on our trip.  So now she's a rolling machine.  Of course I have no video evidence, but it's true!

She also remembered how to take a bottle AND fell asleep with a pacifier!

Daniel came home speaking in complete sentences 100% of the time.  His speech was good before we left but now he's talking like a full on kid.  Ahh.  He also hopped on his tricycle and pedaled forward for the first time!  Obviously, this is not what's pictured.  This is from when Aiden was pushing him really fast.  But he can actually pedal now.  It's amazing what traveling does to kiddos.

We put Daniel's hair in a ponytail to be silly and he wasn't sure what to think.

Pretty goofy looking if you ask me.  Though it's convinced me to keep his hair long.  Kiddo needs some hair on that big ol' forehead of his.

And we don't have any pictures of it, but Heidi swam in the ocean for the first time!  She got to use this ridiculously cute swimsuit from Aunt Emmy.  She had a great time!

Alrighty, that's it for now.

East Coast Trip - Part 1

Phew!  We're back!  And somehow it's October.   Going to post some pictures of our trip in batches. One of these days I'll get around to posting Heidi's 3 month photos too, hopefully before she's 4 months.

We spent 2 weeks on the east coast, which is definitely the longest trip we've ever taken.  Everything worked out and the kiddos [mostly] handled it like champs.  I will say I was happy to see a more well behaved 2 year old these past few days since we've been back.

We started with a red eye from Maui to Phoenix.  Daniel was excited to have his own seat.

He only slept for the last bit of our red eye.  During our layover I tried to keep him happy by putting him in the ergo for the first time in well over a year.

Overall the kids handled the flights pretty well.  We flew from Phoenix to Baltimore and then had a 2+ hour drive.  We left Friday night and got in on Saturday night.  It was a looooong day.

Had to get to Five Guys for a burger!

Or a hotdog in Daniel's case.

There was quite a bit of rain, but we were happy to find the library had a huge play area.  They had tons of puzzles and cars.  Quite exciting if you're 2.5.

We got to ride the Colebrookedale Railroad as a huge special treat.  Grandad even bought Daniel a conductor's hat!

One day we went out for a post-nap treat - Rita's!

One day we went to Longwood Gardens.  Daniel LOVED the children's garden.

Went to Delaware to visit Angela and went to the Hagley.

The pictures are starting to get a bit out of order, but oh well.  We played on many playgrounds.

Ate at Chipotle!

More playgrounds.

And the pictures are now back to Hagley with Angela.

Daniel took it upon himself to get some more bread.  I like his style.  Couldn't even be mad about it.

Okay that's a random place to stop, but that's where I'm going to stop part 1.
