Aloha Friday

We've been trying to get out for walks more frequently.  It's tricky (impossible) on nights when I have rehearsal, but we can usually make it work on a Friday.

The weather was ridiculously perfect this evening.  Beautiful light, beautiful breeze, and crisp air.

The light show wasn't too bad either.

There are worse ways to start the weekend!  Happy Aloha Friday ya'll!

Thanks Obama!

It took 5 months, but look what came in the mail yesterday!  

At least no matter what happens in November, Daniel will know that Obama was president when he was born...and we made sure we have his Hawaiian birth certificate, just in case he decides to run for president some day.

Apple of our eye

Each week in daycare, there is a theme of some kind that the kids "learn" about.  Last week was leaves, this week is apples.

Yesterday Liana had Daniel "participate" in the craft and sent it home with us.

Beyond anything, I'm just so impressed that Liana made the effort to clearly make an entire apple and then paint his foot and do the footprint.  Especially keeping in mind she has 5 other kiddos that she's working with!

I feel a little silly for how much I love it, especially given that it was made by an adult haha.  Immediately my reaction was "I'm never throwing it away!"  And then I realized that this is how it starts...

Either way, I love it.  Now if only I could convince Danny this isn't the type of apple that you eat...

Bleh, I knew I didn't like green stuff.

I was right, definitely do NOT like this green gunk.

Maybe if I control the spoon it'll taste better.

So far, still not convinced..

What the heck is this stuff?  Definitely not ice cream!

I'm simply not impressed with the preparation of these peas.

This spoon is pretty good though..once I fling all the green goo all over the place.

Yeah, definitely better when the goo is everywhere but the inside of my mouth.

Aw man, what's a guy gotta do to get a donut around here?

Breakfast date

Parent teacher conferences today and tomorrow mean a late start for us.  Yahoo!  We had breakfast at a little cafe in Makawao this morning.

Tom's face is out of focus in this photo, but I just love how comfortable and at peace Daniel looks.

A late start does not mean a sleep in.  We were up at 5, but it was nice not to have to rush out the door.
